Real Homes Transformations: Turning a Condominium Unit into a Dark Scandinavian-esque Abode

20 May 2021

Project by: Raymond
Cost: $100,000

The homeowners of this older Condominium unit were looking to revamp it into a modernised resort-esque look. “The owners basically just gave me a brief and the rest was up to me,” Raymond shared. “Thus, the design is very much based a lot on their lifestyles.”

Before – Living Room

After – Living Room

“I came up with the feature wall and storage area as the homeowner had a lot of books,” Raymond said. “It’s sort of like a feature wall cum concealed storage space to blend with the surrounding.”

The hexagon pattern on the feature wall was added to match the ceiling.

Before & After – Dining Room

Before & After – Bathroom

“For the bathroom, I used slate tiles in the dry area and homogeneous tiles that look like concrete in the shower stall,” Raymond shared. “The homeowner prefers the use of darker colours, and the old school slate tiles actually help to create running tones within the bathroom.”
