This home was designed for a couple deeply rooted in the creative world : a wife who’s a creative director and a husband with a background in graphic design and music. Their biggest concerned was the layout of the home as they like to host guest but also need a creative private space for them to work from home. They are sensitive to certain cues such as light and noise. After speaking to them for the first time, we felt a strong sense of direction and alignment. We wanted the design to be bold, clean, and impactful, yet maintain a calm and cold minimalism. With space and light being major challenges, we reconfigured the entire layout to open up the home by integrating the master bedroom and study, and wrapped the passageway to create a seamless flow. We used a single laminate finish across the entire house to visually expand the space and achieve a cohesive, integrated feel. Knowing the husband’s eye for detail, every line and junction was carefully considered. Despite budget concerns, the couple embraced the bolder option — and the result is a distinctive home that reflects their lifestyle, personality, and creative sensibilities.
