Looking to upgrade to a larger space for their expanding family - 2 cats, 1 dog & their newborn infant - the homeowners decided on this 1200sqft resale condo in Commonwealth to call home.

Their brief called for a minimalist approach to design - somewhere in between lagom & wabi-sabi.

They wanted to retain the spacious transition from the entrance to the living area, and since heavy cooking is not part of their lifestyle, the original walls were taken down to create an open concept kitchen for a full, unobstructed visual all the way through.

Raw cement screed walls accentuated by alabaster kitkat tiles are sublime in their austere simplicity, warmed up only by the honey-toned wood furniture strategically placed about the home.

Flushed doors neatly aligned with the corridor wall are a perfect complement to the seamless beige microcement floors - uncomplicated functionality is key here. The super-spacious dining area allowed for a storage cabinet to be built along the wall and keep the space clutter-free - within it, 2 bicycles are stowed away.

Color palette is deliberately muted. The result is a minimal, understated environment with a clear message: creating the right balance in life whilst establishing a sustainable mindset.
