Designer: Amanda

Property Type: HDB

Renovation Cost: $70,000

Style: Eclectic, Scandinavian

With an unconventional-shaped floor plan, this 3-room HDB has transformed into a free-flowing spatial composition. This home was designed with a touch of Peranakan heritage, without compromising on the functionality of abundance storage space while having it to be easy maintenance.

The colour scheme of white, woody tones, and soft blue accents were used to have a brighter communal area. The blue accents were used to accentuate the recessed backings of the ventilation block-inspired feature wall.

Wood-effect laminate finishes were used on the ceiling and cabinets to create a parallel line of vision. With recessed lighting added, it enforces the spacious visual effect.

A minimal colour scheme of white and soothing wood tones was used in the master bedroom. The existing storeroom has been hacked away to allow a walk-in wardrobe.

For the storeroom door and dish rack cover, Peranakan-inspired glass panels were used to contrast against the kitchen’s dark concrete floor. For the kitchen backsplash, white and blue Chinois accented tiles have been selected.

Blue Peranakan style wall tiles were selected to complete the whole blue-and-white colour scheme in the kitchen.
